For Sellers
Sell or clear out cosplay costumes on COSMA, the cosplay-only marketplace
Costumes, wigs and props sleeping in your closet: too good to throw away, but generic marketplaces don't get their value. COSMA is a marketplace built for cosplayers to sell and pass on costumes to each other — straight to the people searching by series and character.

01
Costumes you no longer wear still have a next owner
A costume worn once at an event is hard to throw away even with no plans to wear it again. Meanwhile someone who wants to cosplay the same character is looking for exactly what you have. Because costumes are near one-of-a-kind, their value lives on when they reach the right person.
The long-standing "o-yuzuri" (hand-off) culture among cosplayers exists for this cycle. COSMA was built to make it safer than DM deals and easier to search than generic marketplaces.
02
Why costumes sell on COSMA
On generic apps the "cosplay" category is flooded with mass-produced new items and personal hand-offs get buried. COSMA is different in these ways.
- 1
Buyers are cosplayers
People on COSMA are looking for costumes, wigs and props. Your listing reaches someone searching by series and character — someone who understands its value.
- 2
Searchable by series and character
Tag your listing with the series and character and it shows up for people searching that title, instead of sinking into a sea of "cosplay".
- 3
Stripe payments
Buyer payments are processed by Stripe and held safely until the transaction completes — no "shipped but never paid" DM risk.
- 4
Anonymous shipping
When a buyer chooses post-office pickup, their home address is never shared with you, at no extra fee. If you also want to hide your own return address, the order screen explains how, and what each shipping method allows.
- 5
Automatic payouts
Earnings are paid to your registered bank account automatically via Stripe Connect. No withdrawal requests.
03
Fees and what you take home
COSMA's selling fee is 12% of the item price (launch pricing; standard 15%). COSMA covers Stripe's processing and payout fees, so the selling fee is the seller's only cost. Shipping is not subject to the fee.
| Item | Amount | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Item price | ¥10,000 | Set freely by the seller |
| Selling fee (12%) | −¥1,200 | Launch pricing; Stripe fees covered by COSMA |
| You receive | ¥8,800 | Paid automatically via Stripe Connect |
Fee rates may change. Check the Terms of Service and Help Center for current conditions.
04
How listing works
From sign-up to your first listing, everything can be done on a phone.
- 1

- 2
Take photos
Front and back, fabric close-ups, any flaws, and included accessories, in good light. Photos matter most.
- 3
Enter series, character, size and condition
Add series and character tags, category, condition (new / like new / worn a few times / visible wear), actual measurements and included items.
- 4
Set a price and publish
Use the 30–70%-of-retail guideline. You can edit after publishing.
- 5
Ship when sold
You're notified on purchase. Ship as specified; the buyer confirms receipt and earnings are paid out automatically.
05
Tips for a better, faster sale
The same costume sells faster and for more depending on how it's listed.
- Use official series and character names (note abbreviations in the description)
- Always give actual measurements — "size M" alone isn't enough for buyers to decide
- Show flaws in photos and text; honest listings sell faster and cause fewer disputes
- Bundle wig, shoes and props so the buyer can wear it right away
- List before a new season airs or a related event — demand rises
- Keep your face and personal details out of worn photos
- Reply to questions promptly; response speed signals trust
06
Eight categories you can list in
COSMA isn't just for costumes. Eight categories are supported: costumes, wigs, props, shoes, sets (costume + wig etc.), camera gear, photobooks/ROM, and crafting materials.
Strobes and reflectors bought for shoots, leftover EVA foam and wire, unsold photobook stock — anything used in cosplay activity can go to its next owner on COSMA.
07
COSMA vs. generic marketplaces
Generic apps like Mercari or Rakuma and COSMA aren't better or worse — they suit different things.
| COSMA | Generic marketplaces | |
|---|---|---|
| Buyers | Cosplayers | Everyone |
| Search | Series, character, category, size, condition | Keyword, category |
| Competing listings | Mostly personal hand-offs | Many mass-produced new items |
| Selling fee | 12% (launch; standard 15%) | Varies by service (often around 10%) |
| Anonymous shipping | Buyer's address stays hidden (post-office pickup, no extra fee) | Varies by service |
| Payments | Stripe (fees covered by COSMA) | Varies by service |
Conditions of each service change over time. Check the official site before using one.
FAQ
Seller FAQ
Is listing free?
Yes. Sign-up and listing are free; a 12% selling fee (launch pricing) applies only when an item sells.
Do I need identity verification?
Sellers verify once through Stripe Connect. This reassures buyers and is also where you register your payout account.
When do I get paid?
After the transaction completes, earnings are paid automatically to your registered account via Stripe Connect. COSMA covers Stripe's processing and payout fees.
Can I sell and ship anonymously?
When the buyer chooses anonymous shipping (post-office pickup), their home address is never shared with you, at no extra fee. Hiding your own return address depends on the method: a Japan Post counter can leave the sender blank on Yu-Pack and Yu-Packet, while Letterpack always requires it. The order screen walks you through the steps.
Can I list costumes in any condition?
Choose from four conditions: new, like new, worn a few times, visible wear. Show flaws honestly in photos and text.
Is anything not allowed?
Adult-oriented costumes and items against official guidelines cannot be listed. See the listing guidelines for details.
Can I sell to buyers overseas?
COSMA supports Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean, so cosplayers abroad can browse and buy. Set your shipping options when listing.
